Materials needed

  • 250 grams of cherries
  • 300 grams of Rulang 
  • 500 grams of sugar 
  • 250 grams of butter 
  • Currants 80 grams 
  • 250 grams of raisins 
  • 250 grams of sultanas 
  • 250 grams of ginger dosi 
  • Chow Chow 250 grams 
  • 80 g of candied peel 
  • 12 eggs 
  • Cashews 250 grams 
  • Strawberry jam (small) 1 
  • 1/2 glass of brandy 
  • 1 small bottle of honey 
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla essence 
  • 2 tablespoons of rose essence 
  • 2 tablespoons of almond essence 
  • Cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, 1 teaspoon each 
  • A teaspoon of grated lime peel

How to prepare cake

Chop all the fruits and stir in the brandy.  Put it in a big container and keep it closed for about 5 days. 

Fry a little rulang in a pan and mix it with butter.  Separate egg whites and yolks.  Beat the whites with sugar. 

Now add the turmeric powder and beat it.  After beating well, add butter and rulang mixture to it.  Now add the fruit to this and mix well. 

Now add some honey to this.  Add rose essence, almond essence, vanilla and all the spices to powder. 

Mix the jam well and cut the cashews into pieces and mix.  Put the mixture on a baking sheet tray and bake it at 180°C for about an hour.
