Pomegranate, which is considered to be the healthiest fruit among fruits, contains compounds that are very beneficial to the body, which cannot be compared with other fruits. Scientific research has confirmed that eating pomegranate can prevent many diseases.

Considered a type of berry, a pomegranate has a bright, shiny red colour when fully ripe. 1 cup (174 grams) of well-ripened pomegranate seeds, 7 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein, 30% of the daily requirement of vitamin C, 36% of the daily requirement of vitamin K, 16% of the daily requirement of folate, 12% of the daily requirement of potassium, sugar  24 grams, 144 calories are very nutritious.

Pomegranates are also packed with punicalagins and punicac acids, two powerful plant compounds rarely found in fruits.  Punicalagins, an extremely powerful antioxidant, are abundant in pomegranate juice and peel.  It is so powerful that it has three times the antioxidant power of red wine or green tea.
Pomegranate seeds contain punisacic acid, which plays a major role in fighting cancer.  For this reason, the oil obtained from pomegranate seeds is used for the production of anti-cancer drugs.  Research has now confirmed that pomegranate can be used against prostate cancer, which is common among men and breast cancer, which is mostly found in women.  Accordingly, pomegranate has the ability to inhibit the growth rate of cancer cells.

In a prostate cancer, the production rate of the protein called PSA (prostate specific antigen) produced by it doubles in a very short time, and research has confirmed that if a person suffering from prostate cancer drinks 8 ounces of pomegranate juice a day, it will double in 15 weeks.  PSA's production speed is up to 54 weeks.

Research has shown that drinking 5 ounces of pomegranate juice daily for 2 weeks can reduce high blood pressure without the use of medication.  Pomegranate juice helps control type 2 diabetes and lowers LDL cholesterol, which contributes to heart attacks.  Research has also confirmed that pomegranate extract can be used to stop enzymes that damage joints and cause osteoarthritis.  Recent research has confirmed that pomegranate juice and seeds improve memory.  A study in which 28 elderly people with amnesia were given 8 ounces of pomegranate juice each day showed a significant increase in their auditory and visual memories.
